Our guest room is probably the room that most reflects my changing taste in interiors over the last few years and as a result, it’s gone through the most iterations of any room in our house since we moved in. When we first moved in, I envisioned a neutral room with dark furniture. We already had a black metal bed frame that I loved and some secondhand IKEA nightstands from the guest room of our condo, so I used that as my starting point. I added my favorite Loloi rug and our old IKEA dresser from the main bedroom of...

MY 2022 HOME GOALS
Hello again! It's been a long time since my last post - more than six months, to be specific. 2021 was a tough one and with everything going on it was time to take a break from the blog. Things are looking up in 2022 though, and I'm excited to get back to my favorite creative outlet! I thought it would be fun to kick the year off by sharing my goals for our home in 2022. Most of these projects have been in my head for a while, but I thought the new year would be a good opportunity...
HOW TO PAINT YOUR KITCHEN CABINETS
Today's post is a looooong time coming. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that one of the first projects I tackled after we closed on our house was painting the kitchen cabinets. After enduring 2 years with a tiny galley kitchen at our condo, I knew I wanted to get to work on the kitchen right away so I could enjoy it in its full glory for as long as possible.
MY 2020 HOLIDAY DECOR PICKS
After waiting until December to shop for decor last year only to learn that almost everything I wanted was sold out, I started shopping pretty early this year. Since it took me a while to round up some affordable pieces, I thought I'd share what I bought for our home here. Keep reading to see the holiday decor that's bringing some extra cheer to our home this year!
THE BEST AREA RUGS UNDER $250
You know how when you become an adult, you learn that there are certain things that are way more expensive than you ever thought possible? Like, why do good throw pillows cost $50??? That's how I felt about area rugs when I first began decorating my first apartment.
OUR KITCHEN DESIGN PLAN & INSPIRATION
One of the many reasons that I loved our house right away was because when I stepped into each room, it was like I could instantly picture its potential. The kitchen was no exception - the minute I saw it, I pictured white cabinets, pretty brushed brass fixtures, marble countertops, and an organic subway tile backsplash.
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
We bought a house! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve known this for four months. After a whirlwind house hunt, this summer Darian and I packed up our condo and moved from Northern Virginia to Frederick, Maryland, a small city about an hour outside DC.
MY PICKS FROM STUDIO MCGEE’S NEW TARGET COLLECTION
At the end of last month I found out that all my decor dreams were coming true - my favorite designer, Studio McGee, announced a multi-year collaboration with Target. I've been a fan of Studio McGee for years. I absolutely love their unique style and all of their products are such great quality, but sadly most of them are out of my current price range. Still, a gal can dream, and my home decor Pinterest board is filled with great pieces from Studio McGee. Now that their Target collection is live, I'm so excited to see so many affordable items...
THE BEST COFFEE TABLE BOOKS FOR STYLING
It's probably pretty clear by now that I have a passion for interior design, and hands down my favorite part of design is styling. Give me a good set of shelves and I can spend hours playing around and styling them fifty different ways. And with my love of styling has come a love of coffee table books. I'm a sucker for functional decor, and coffee table books are just that. They're great for anchoring smaller decorative objects and creating a cohesive look, but they're also perfect to thumb through while re-watching The Office for the 17th time.
THE BEST OF THE TARGET SPRING HOME COLLECTION
It's no secret that, like every other basic woman, I'm obsessed with Target. However, I do not have an endless supply of money, so I've mastered the art of window shopping. My Target is close enough to walk to (I don't because there aren't sidewalks and I'm lazy, but still), so during non-quarantine times I typically go to Target at least once a week. My favorite section is definitely the home decor section, and Target's selection just keeps getting better. I love seeing product roundups from design bloggers I follow, so I thought I'd throw together one of my own.
