GIFT GUIDE: FOR THE ADVENTURER

Today’s gift guide is for the the adventurer in your life! The one who’s always down for a camping trip and spends every spare weekend hiking or visiting a new National Park. This gift guide features a mix of practical and fun gifts for the loved one who relishes every second spent outside. And if you know me well, you know this is the gift guide that was most outside my realm of expertise – after all, I’m a self-proclaimed homebody! So I have to give my friend Meg a shout-out for her contributions to this gift guide. She is by far my most outdoorsy and adventurous friend and provided most of the gift ideas here, so you know they’re coming straight from a credible source. If you know someone who is passionate about the great outdoors, take a look at the gift guide below for my gift ideas for the adventurer!

Gift Ideas for the Adventurer

2024 National Parks Calendar – $25

This 2024 Calendar is made by Parks Project, which funds and facilitates the most important projects in parks that are in need of immediate attention. It’s printed on FSC certified environmentally friendly paper and each month features a different national park!

BioLite Power Bank – $40

This lightweight charger can provide 1.5 phone charges and can even charge multiple devices at once. It’s perfect for the outdoorsy person who frequently does day hikes – this will give them peace of mind knowing that if their phone battery can’t make it all day, they have a backup option!

Aeropress Coffee Press – $40

The Aeropress Coffee Press will help them get their daily fix of caffeine even when they’re in the wilderness! This portable coffee maker features a 3 in 1 brew method that combines French press, pourover, and espresso for a full-bodied, smooth coffee.

Nalgene Water Bottle – $20

Pro tip: according to my friend Meg, this Nalgene water bottle holds a full bottle of wine. This is one of those things an adventurer can never have too many of!

Darn Tough Hiking Socks – $24

Any outdoorsy person will tell you that they can never have too many hiking socks. These ones are super lightweight and will keep their feet comfortable on even the most strenuous hikes.

National Park Pass – $80

If your favorite adventurer doesn’t already have one, why not gift them a National Park Pass? This pass includes entrance fees to all parks for one personal vehicle, including rentals and RV’s/motorhomes. If you think they might already have a National Park Pass, consider a digital gift card so they can redeem it when they’re ready to renew!

Osprey Travel Pack – $195

In his backpacking days, my dad swore by this backpack – and he still uses it for travel today! This backpack is made of durable fabric for longevity and maximizes storage space and comfort.

Rumpl Camping Blanket – $125

Ask any experienced camper or hiker and they’ll tell you that camping can get COLD at night. The Rumpl blanket is weather-resistant and made from the same fabrics and insulating fibers as sleeping bags and insulated puffy jackets, so it’ll keep them nice and toasty on even the chilliest nights.

Toe Warmers – $7

Another gift they’ll thank you for on cold days! Especially if they live in a cooler climate, they’ll certainly appreciate having these on hand for colder hikes.

Helinox Camping Chair – $150

Your favorite frequent camper will love this top-rated and incredibly lightweight camping chair! The Helinox Chair Zero is a lightweight and comfortable, and best of all, it packs down to the width of a standard 32 oz. water bottle and weighs just a single pound.

Jetboil Flash Cooking System – $125

The Jetboil Flash cooking system boils water in 100 seconds, allowing you to conserve fuel and prepare instant food or hot cocoa in a flash (see what I did there)? They’ll think of you every time they enjoy a hot drink while camping!

Patagonia ¼ Zip Fleece – $140

When it comes to the outdoorsy person in your life, you can’t go wrong with a gift from Patagonia. The quality of their products is unmatched, and it certainly helps that as a company, they emphasize sustainability and good ethics.

Katadyn Water Filter Bottle – $45

According to my most outdoorsy friend, this water bottle is all the rage amongst the camping community right now. It filters water at a rate of up to 2 liters per minute, and folds up small when not in use!

Teva Sandals – $55

Every dedicated hiker I know owns either Teva or Chaco sandals, and you can’t go wrong with either one. The classic camel color of these ones makes them a great choice for your favorite hiker!

100 Hikes of a Lifetime Book – $110

As much as your outdoorsy friend would probably love to spend all their time hiking and camping, they have to spend *some* time at home. They’ll love displaying this stunning coffee table book in their home, and they’ll love thumbing through photographs of hikes around the world and dreaming about their next adventure even more.
